At the Aldenhoven Testing Center, we recently had a very special guest: Lightyear, a pioneer in solar electric vehicles tested its Lightyear One with us. The long-range solar electric vehicle completed a 53 mph drive cycle on a single battery charge of 60 kWh.

New motorcycle targets are currently used for the Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme) test scenarios that will apply from 2023. Two-wheelers are also considered in the Vulnerable Road User (VRU) Protection test. Here, our test customers are looking at how the new tests can best be implemented at our Aldenhoven Testing Center.

The district of Düren, one of the shareholders of our Aldenhoven Testing Center, wants to become climateneutral by 2035. With the promise of subsidies for green hydrogen, this goal also moved closer. The first hydrogen is to be produced in a hydrolysis plant at the Brainergy Park in Jülich in around two years. One of the largest solar plants in NRW, which is also being planned, should make the very energy-intensive production of hydrogen profitable. The Westdeutscher Rundfunk reported.
