Automotive proving grounds continue to face challenges, for example with an increasing number of autonomous vehicles or vehicles undergoing automated testing. With safety a top priority for all involved in testing, requirements arise in many areas such as test protocols, design, operations and connectivity. Due to this, the first Proving Ground Conference took place last year on the initiative of the Aldenhoven Testing Center, RWTH Aachen University and mm-lab GmbH.

If you test your e-vehicles at our proving ground, you already know that you can also charge them on site. Now it's even faster: At the request of a customer, we currently have a mobile fast-charging station from our partner Isoblock Schaltanlagen on site.

If you test vehicles, you surely know that weather can have an impact on test data. How convenient that you can access weather data for the last five days and current conditions from our home page. We measure and show

the temperatures of air and asphalt,
flow,
precipitation, and
sun radiation on site.

There is also a direct download option for weather data from previous days.

We at the Aldenhoven Testing Center are working on the future of mobility. In this context, the future cannot be achieved without sustainable action.

We have therefore decided to further promote sustainability at our site and implemented ideas from our team such as charging our customers' electric vehicles with green electricity from hydropower, our electrically powered safety car, smart heating control, LEDs. The next step was the possibility of offering employees a company bicycle. The first members of the team have already done so. It keeps us fit and protects the environment.
