After two years of development and production, Team Sonnenwagen unveiled the fourth generation of their solar-power racing vehicle, Covestro Adelie, at the Eurogress Aachen on June 5, 2023. The goal was to develop the most efficient design the team has ever produced. One of the innovations is the exterior, optimized for aerodynamic efficiency and inspired by the eponymous Adelie penguin. The new vehicle will be able to prove itself at the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia. In seven days 3,022 km through the outback: from Darwin to Adelaide. In their luggage: a banner, signed by the management and with the best wishes of the Aldenhoven Testing Center.

On Saturday and Sunday, June 3 and 4, 2023, the "Classic Summer Days" took place at Merode Castle in the district of Düren. Here, the Mercedes-Benz brand clubs presented their vehicles in front of a historic backdrop. The event was held under the motto "R129 & friends". The meeting for members, friends and interested guests was organized by the Germany-wide active Mercedes-Benz R129 SL Club.

Last Saturday we had special oldies with us. The Lloyd Freunde IG, Nottuln had chosen our test center as the destination for their Lloyd Days. With their old-timers, a legendary small car brand of the economic miracle era, they offered a colorful picture on our steep curve.

Last Saturday, in perfect weather, the bicycle discipline for the Deutsches Sportabzeichen (German Sports Badge) was taken for the first time on our proving ground. And this was done quite sportily with muscle power – engines were only there as background scenery from the neighboring highway segment of the FTL, on which a quarter-mile race was held at the same time.
