Once again this year, Team Sonnenwagen from Aachen is taking part in the legendary Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia. The race covers 3,022 kilometers across the Australian outback in just seven days – from Darwin to Adelaide. On board: the brand new Covestro Aethon solar car.

The name of the new model says it all: Aethon is one of the four horses that pull the sun chariot of the god Helios across the sky in Greek mythology. The fifth generation of the innovative solar car was ceremoniously presented at the rollout in Das Liebig on May 26, 2025.
