One hour. In the recumbent bike race, organized by HPV-Germany, the only thing that mattered was how much distance was covered in those 60 minutes. Thirty-six participants took on this challenge, lining up at the starting line with their fully-fairing, partially-fairing, and open recumbent bikes.

And one rider was fast that day: Matthias König. Riding his Snoek with starting number 24, König put on an impressive performance. After 36 laps, it was clear: his average speed was 72,748 km/h.

The women also pushed the pace hard. Susanne Sailer, starting number 26, crossed the finish line after 27 laps, securing 13th place in the overall standings with an average speed of 54,010 km/h.

We’re delighted to once again be able to offer the best conditions for top performances on our test tracks. For more information about the race, visit www.droplimits.de.
