At the Aldenhoven Testing Center, all scenarios can be conducted in accordance with the current Euro NCAP test protocols. The European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP) is known for its star ratings of vehicle safety for passenger cars as well as light and heavy commercial vehicles.
At our test facility, you have the opportunity to conduct all scenarios in accordance with the current Euro NCAP test protocols. The European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP) is known for its star ratings of vehicle safety for passenger cars as well as light and heavy commercial vehicles. The assessment focuses on safety features that help prevent accidents through driver warnings or automatic braking/steering maneuvers, or that mitigate the consequences of accidents.
Various track elements are available at our test facility to accommodate the different Euro NCAP test procedures. The vehicle dynamics area is a versatile location for simulating situations such as the end of a traffic jam (protocols CCRs, CMRs, CCRm, CMRm, CCRb, ACC CCRs etc.). When booked exclusively, cross-traffic scenarios can be simulated (CCC, CMC), or the real road edge (ELK Real Road Edge) can be used. The driving dynamics area is prepared with appropriate markings for this purpose. These can be supplemented with additional temporary lines upon request.
The urban environment is perfectly suited for turning scenarios - with appropriate route lengths and markings - for all collision opponents (CPTA, CBTA, CCFtap, CMFTap, …) and can serve as an alternative to the vehicle dynamics area for low-speed tests (CPMFC, CPRC).
The oval circuit can be used, upon consultation, for lane-keeping systems with a collision partner (LSS Overtaking/Oncoming) or for Speed Assist tests (SCF).
Upon consultation and with some advance notice, testing in the dark is possible.
All Euro NCAP test scenarios at our facility at a glance:
- Car-to-Car (CC): Car-to-Car Front Turn Across Path (CCFtap), Car-to-Car Crossing (CCC), Car-to-Car Rear Stationary (CCRs), Car-to-Car Rear Moving (CCRm), Car-to-Car Rear Braking (CCRb)—each as an Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) or Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) test.
- Car-to-Motorcycle (CM): Car-to-Motorcycle Front Turn Across Path (CMFtap), Car-to-Motorcycle Crossing (CMC), Car-to-Motorcycle Rear Stationary (CMRs), Car-to-Motorcycle Rear Braking (CMRb) - each as an Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) or Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) test.
- Car-to-Pedestrian (CP): Car-to-Pedestrian Longitudinal Adult (CPLA), Car-to-Pedestrian Nearside Adult (CPNA), Car-to-Pedestrian Farside Adult (CPFA), Car-to-Pedestrian Nearside Child (CPNC), Car-to-Pedestrian Moving Forward Adult/Child (CPMFA/C), Car-to-Pedestrian Moving Rearward Adult/Child (CPMRA/C), as well as other Euro NCAP scenarios.
- • Car-to-Cyclist (CB): Car-to-Bicyclist Longitudinal Adult (CBLA), Car-to-Bicyclist Nearside Adult (CBNA), Car-to-Bicyclist Farside Adult (CBFA), and other Euro NCAP scenarios.
