The “Cycling Special” recently took place for the fourth time on the oval track at the Aldenhoven Testing Center under bright sunshine.
Starting at 10:00 a.m., participants took to the track in high temperatures and with a good water supply to complete the challenges for the German Sports Badge.
A total of 57 people took part in the event. The Sports Badge team certified 52 endurance performances (36 × 20 km, 12 × 10 km, 3 × 5 km) and 51 sprint performances for the German Sports Badge. Children (5 km) and teenagers (10 km) also completed their races.
With a new personal best of 26:50 minutes over 20 km, Thomas Schaaf secured first place on our test course for the fourth time in a row. Among the women, Tina Zimmermann delivered an impressive performance.
The best times at a glance:
- 20 km Men: Thomas Schaaf – 26:50 minutes
- 20 km Women: Tina Zimmermann – 32:39 minutes
